Hours: 12 Hour Days—Three (3) to Four (4) Consecutive Days

Job Overview:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and report safety concerns. Must maintain Rx Technology’s standard of teamwork.

Operate a Flexographic printing press producing a quality product quickly and efficiently to the customer’s specifications. Meet and exceed press averages on both production and spoilage. Responsible for trouble-shooting and minor press maintenance.  Must be able to make quick and efficient make-readies. Train helpers and press trainees, operate ink dispenser, and do daily entries into EMS system.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 1 year at level 18 Press Operator, prefer 3700 hour of press operating time.

• No lost time accidents due to negligence in last year.

• Attendance record meets expectations (<4 pts cumulative in last 6 months.)

• Meet or exceed both productivity and spoilage averages of assigned press.

• Able to operate all presses.

• No more than 2 quality related documented occurrences in the last 6 months.

Minimum Skills:

Accurate TCM data entry.

Good trouble shooting skills.

Ability to legibly and accurately complete required documentation.

Ability to give clear and concise instructions to assistant.

Ability to work as a team player in a production environment.

Display tact and courtesy when dealing with others.

Be self-motivated and posses a willingness to learn.

Ability to meet or exceed expectations.

Ability to match and mix inks to specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Produce a quality product quickly and efficiently to customer specifications.

Participate as a team player. Aid and assist other employees and shifts in production process improvements.

Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instruction from job orders.

Meet and exceed company standards for productivity and spoilage.

Plan ahead to minimize unexpected downtime.

Manufacture accurate and precise products from detailed instructions on job orders.

Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct.

Monitor product for quality during job runs. Check preciseness of detail against specifications. Take action to correct any problems.

Monitor, adjust and correct equipment during job runs. Remain alert to mechanical problems and notify proper personnel if corrective action, beyond your ability, is necessary.

Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.

Self-initiate the start-up and running of jobs in keeping with the production schedule.

Coach press assistants; provide instruction and training as necessary.

Provide solutions to departmental and company challenges.

Properly maintain company equipment and supplies to minimize cost and expenses.

Complete tasks and projects as assigned.

Adhere to all safety guidelines and inform proper personnel of all safety concerns.

Keep press and work area clean and organized for efficiency while running and at shift changeovers.

Keep toolbox organized and tools in good condition.

Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Accurately complete related paperwork, logs and data entry.

Develop, utilize and communicate more efficient production methods.

• Participate in company quality and productivity related programs.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk and stand for approximately 12 hours a day for three (3) to four (4) consecutive days. Ability to lift, push, and pull 40 to 60 pounds frequently. Requires reaching, bending and squatting frequently. Must be able to step up and down from a platform approximately 18” high very frequently.
